The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness God and prepares our hearts for the more that God wants to bring into our lives. There are many different kinds of fasts, from fasting from food, to fasting media. Your personal fast will require discipline, and should present a bit of a challenge, but the most important thing is to seek God, and determine what thing(s) he might be calling you to set aside during these 21 days in order to connect even more deeply with Him.

Fasting is not as common in our culture today as it was during Biblical times, and we recognize that for many of us, this may be our first time fasting. Here are some really helpful resources to learn more about Biblical fasting.
