WEEK ONE PRAYER FOCUS: The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)
Day Two: God is Holy
TODAY'S FIRST PASSAGE: Matthew 6:9 “hallowed be Your name”
The dictionary defines the word “hallow” this way:
1. honor as holy.
2. make holy; consecrate.
3. greatly revered or respected.
SOME QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
- What comes to your mind when you hear the word “hallowed” or “Holy”?
- Do you normally view God this way?
- What are some ways that you can cultivate more reverence or respect in your relationship with God?
PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES:
Work through these scriptures, letting them sink into your heart, and wrapping your own words around them for yourself, your family, our church and for our city.
For yourself/your family: 1 Peter 1:15-16
For Commonwealth: 1 Corinthians 3:16
For the City: Revelation 21:1-2
DAY TWO PRAYER CHALLENGE:
Set aside 2-5 minutes today to simply be silent before God. Don’t fill this prayer time with words, just wait and ask Him to help you understand His holiness more. Honor Him with your presence, and your silent awe. Consider anything in you that is interfering with your ability to freely engage with a Holy God - release these things and ask God to make you holy like He is holy.
