Winterfest Recap

In December, we were offered the opportunity to through a holiday party at the elementary school that we will be holding our services at come February 26th. Our major aims were to bless the community, to create a place for families to connect and celebrate the Christmas season (for free), and to have as much fun as possible. So we moved onto the playground at Golden Hill Elementary and transformed it into a winter festival.

We had bounce houses, face painting, a raffle, a hot chocolate bar, pictures with Santa and a petting zoo complete with a real-live hedgehog! It was a joy to see over 150 people come by, and celebrate the season as families.

Some of the families told us that this was their child's first picture with Santa, and you could see the excitement all over their faces as they stepped up to have their picture taken. To be honest, it was hard to tell who was having more fun, the kids or Santa!

We loved our first chance to connect with families in Golden Hill and serve on the campus that we will call home. We can't wait to see what other opportunities unfold for us to work alongside this great school in this great community.
